THE BELLEVUE CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY
2001 Board Members
Meydenbauer Center is owned and operated by the Bellevue Convention
Center Authority ("Authority"), a non-profit public
development authority chartered by the City of Bellevue. The Authority
was organized pursuant to the Revised Code of Washington 35.21.730
et seq. The Authority was created in December, 1989, and has a
seven-member board appointed by the City Manager with the concurrence

Robert C. Wallace, Chairman, is active in the ownership,
management and development of commercial properties within the
Pacific Northwest as managing partner of Wallace Properties Group.
Mr. Wallace is currently Chairman of the Washington State Major
League Baseball Stadium Public Facilities District Board of Directors.
He is past Chairman of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce and Kingdome
Advisory Board and a past member of the Board of Directors of
the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. Mr. Wallace
is a member of the Board of Directors of First Mutual Bank and
a past Trustee of Seattle Pacific University. He began his term(s)
on the Authority Board in 1990 and his current term expires January
2, 2002.
Clare Nordquist, Vice Chairman, is co-founder of
Kirkland-based Materia Ventures Associates, L.P. (MVA). MVA is
a private venture capital firm. He is CEO of Leading Edge Ceramics
and is on the board of Viox Corporation, both local companies.
Mr. Nordquist also currently serves as President and Chair of
the Port of Seattle Commission. Mr. Nordquist has been very active
in civic activities in Bellevue and the Greater Seattle area.
Presently, he is a member of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce,
Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and Bellevue Rotary. In addition,
he is involved with the Washington Technology Center, a joint
partnership between state government, academia, and private industry
to make greater use of statewide technological enterprise for
Washington states economy, serving on the Executive, Administrative,
Fiscal, and Search Committees. Mr. Nordquists term on the
Authority board expires January 2, 2001. He began his term on
the Authority Board in 1997 and his term expires January 2, 2005.
Don Prather, Secretary, is General Manager of the
Doubletree Bellevue Center. He is the current president of the
Hotel Council of East King County and Board Member of the East
King County Convention and Visitors Bureau. He held past board
positions with Multi-service Centers of North and East King Counties,
Bellevue Downtown Association and the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Prather received his BA in Business Administration from the
University of Washington. He began his term(s) on the Authority
Board in 1995 and his current term expires January 2, 2002.
George Northcroft, Treasurer, His previous professional
experience includes Tresasury Director for Nordstrom; serving
as the director of administration for King County Government;
as the director of State of Washington pension system and as a
member of the Governors cabinet; as a marketing executive
for both First Interstate Bank and Citibank, and a marketing representative
with both IBM and General Electric. Civic activities include serving
on the Board of the Journal American Foundation, the African American
Heritage Foundation, and the Seattle Chamber of Commerces
Urban Enterprise Center. He is a past co-chair of the Bellevue
Economic Roundtable and a past trustee of Bellevue Community College.
He received his BA and MBA in marketing from St. John University.
He is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School and
Harvard Universitys School of Government. He began his term(s)
on the Authority Board in 1996, and his current term expires January
2, 2004.
Suzanne Baugh, Director, is the Leasing Director
for Equity Office Properties, and had previously worked with Wright
Runstad since 1987. Ms. Baugh has been actively involved in the
development of Bellevues downtown for more than 10 years
through her involvement with the Bellevue Downtown Association.
She currently serves as Co-chair of the Bellevue Economic Partnership
for the BDA and as Vice Chair for Economic Vitality and Strong
Business Environment for the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. She
is past chair and board member of the Bellevue Family YMCA. Ms.
Baugh began her term on the board in 2000 and her term expires
January 2, 2004.
Roger Anderson, Director, is President/CEO of GLY
Construction Company. He began his career at GLY in 1975 as a
project manager and has served as president since 1990. He served
on the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Board 1997-2000 and currently
is on that organizations executive committee. He has also
served on boards of the local and district YMCA over the past
25 years. Mr. Anderson began his term in on the Authority board
in 2000 and his term expires January 2, 2005.
Leslie Lloyd, Director, is the President of the
Bellevue Downtown Association. She brings a diverse background
of project management, community planning and community involvement
to the board. She has 20 years of real estate management experience
having worked in roles of developer, consultant and city planner.
Prior to joining the BDA Ms. Lloyd worked as Real Estate Development
Manager for Vulcan Northwest as Development Manager for Quadrant
Corporation. Ms. Lloyd chaired the East King County Chambers of
Commerce Legislative Coalition and she currently sits on the Executive
Committee of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. She has a BA degree
in Urban Planning from the University of Washington. Ms. Lloyd
began her term on the Authority board in 2000 and her term expires
January 2, 2004.
